MURAL

MAIN STREET, SANTA PAULA, CIRCA 1910

As if stepping back into a simpler time, this mural depicts Main Street as the vital center of the growing town circa 1910. Santa Paula's Main Street served as the social, educational, and religious center of the city. Vignettes on the right show the original Neoclassical Revival style Blanchard Library, children from the town's first elementary school that was located near the current post office, and El Brillante Market, which was the center of Latino commerce in Santa Paula at that time.
